"Brother, your radio station is a real blessing to me!! I stream your Internet radio station, "Smooth Pizzazz" here at work and it allows me to praise him, get centered, stay focused and increase my productivity all at the same time!!!" -- Joe A. Robinson

"You have also exposed me to some great Christian Jazz that I was not aware of!! I am going to tell others about Smooth Pizzazz radio station as well as direct them to your website. Keep up the good work!!!"--Lucile Packard

More satisfied listeners!

I just happened upon your internet radio station by searching for Christian jazz on the web.  I have listened to the one hour a week that my local Christian radio station plays Christian jazz and longed for more of the same.  I LOVE your stations selection of  jazz and the combo of inspirational music and jazz is great.  So, I wanted you to know that I appreciate what you are putting out here for the listeners and, myself in particular and I want to encourage you to continue for many, many years to come.  Thank you so much."--Karen Hunt

I discovered you a few weeks ago via a search for stations that play the YellowJackets, of which there are few. I was raised on Big Band, Bop, Cool, Blues ... jazz, and in recent years I've also come to love Latin and a few other things, one of which is the YellowJackets. I was raised in the church and appreciate the neat arrangements of various "church tunes" that you sprinkle in as well. Thank you for your station! -- Carl McMullen

Thank you for praise jazz! I just stated singing...I never do that when I listen to other stations - John McClure

I have to be honest I haven't been much of a church going person, but my love for music is like a battery and I know the Lord is the battery/ When I ran into your station I said this is it! Keep up the good work and keep the same format, I know religious music is in all genres of music, but like myself love smooth jazz therefore I want to listen to Christian smooth jazz. Take care and God Bless. - Manuel Pena

Just found your station, "Smooth Pizzazz" on Live365. Excellent mix - I'm sharing with my friends. Keep up the good work, and keep spicing things up with Tower of Power (love the funky horns)!! -             Randy Jackson Tulsa, OK

Quotes

Clarence Rivers plainly put it when speaking of jazz improvisation: “Spontaneity takes a great deal of practice.”

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what
we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into
acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
-- Dutch Proverb

"Life's a dance. Put on your dancing shoes".

- Steve Winwood

"Jazz is the living proof that the holiness of the human spirit cannot be taken away, even though home, culture, freedom, family, dignity, religion, name, language, and even life itself are brutally wrenched away. It is the evidence that the human spirit contains the power to transform pain, suffering and sorrow into beauty and art."

How strange that we should ordinarily feel compelled to hide our wounds when we are all wounded! Community requires the ability to expose our wounds and weaknesses to our fellow creatures. It also requires the ability to be affected by the wounds of others... But even more important is the love that arises among us when we share, both ways, our woundedness.

- M. Scott Peck

The Coltrane Test by Charlie Peacock... "there is so much to learn about a musical life in Christ. Don't be discouraged if you are not on the same planet as John Coltrane, few musicians are. Still, have eyes to see and ears to hear. And be inspired.  When you are laid to rest may it be said of you that a Love Supreme drove your every thought and deed." Read more here!

God, Church, And All That Jazz... "Jazz is a spiritual movement, it gets the adrenalin rushing when we play it. Gospel music is an adrenalin-raising type music anyway, with its shouts, its counter-rhythms, it is an emotional music, and jazz people like that. Jazz touches a card, a deeper card, where people are moved into responding to the music... It is about spontaneity but that is still in harmony with the rest, and inviting people to talk about their salvation, to talk about their journey, to talk about their struggles, to talk about their agony, jazz does that". Devotional

God's life is like wonderful, eternal music. God the Father creates this exquisite symphony and pours it out into the universe through the Son. Jesus of Nazareth is the transcription of the music in a human life, a theme played without distortion in his life, death and resurrection. He is the original transcription of that divine, eternal music into a form playable on finite, human instruments. We hear that music transcribed in him and we take it up ourselves, or we are taken up by it ourselves.

Living "in Christ" is like being "in the music." When a musician really knows the music "by heart," the musician can surrender in such a way that it is as though the music plays the musician. You become one with the music. You are the music while the music lasts. The reality of the music takes you over, not in a violent overthrow, but in the wonder and beauty of being captured by the music in and through your own action and dedication to it. When you get to that place, there is an intimate relationship with the music. You belong to the music and the music belongs to you.

That is our place with Christ. We stand with Christ caught up in the eternal flow giving and receiving of love that goes on before time,,,

 Rev. Lowell Grisham
