Mike Roberts

Mike Roberts is a pianist and composer of jazz, gospel and electronic music. He is a freelance composer, professor of music at THE GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC & DRAMA and the artistic director of STILL TIME MUSIC.

Born in London, he studied Music at the University of York and Evangelism Studies at Cliff College. As a pianist and musical director he has worked with 'THE LONDON CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATRE', 'YORK LIVELY ARTS', 'BEDSIDE MANNERS THEATRE COMPANY' and 'CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY CHURCH, West London'.

As a composer he has written music for, among others: BBC TELEVISION; ITV; JIM HENSON; PACE PRODUCTIONS; WARNER CLASSIC; STOCK MUSIC; SCRIPTURE UNION; AOG BROADCASTING and NORTH STAR MUSIC ­ for whom he has released 3 albums and dozens of library titles. He has also written 4 Christian musicals to date.

Becoming a Christian in his mid-teens, Mike's vision has always been to use professional music as a means of spreading the Gospel, and it is this desire which led to the establishment, in 1999, of 'STILL TIME MUSIC' and 'THE STILL TIME BAND'. Mike is married to Sarah, who is now responsible for the administration of the band. They live in South Cambridgeshire and are expecting their first baby at the end of March 2007.
