THE STILL TIME BAND' is a professional gospel jazz sextet with a vision to use music as a means of promoting the Gospel.

They have toured extensively throughout the UK performing for a variety of different venues and events including BBC Television, Premier Radio, Greenbelt Stage One, The Salisbury International Arts Festival, The Salvation Army at the Edinburgh Festival, Methodist Central Hall, PDC UK conference, Spring Harvest, AOG conference, Epsom CRE, Living Water, and literally hundreds of churches, outreach events, alpha suppers, worship events, parties, pubs, festivals, weddings, prisons, etc.

The band is made up of a core team of London-based Christian musicians and a large pool of some 60 associate musicians throughout the UK, enabling the band to respond to a range of opportunities nationwide.

Mike Roberts is a pianist and composer of jazz, gospel and electronic music. He is a freelance composer, professor of music at THE GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC & DRAMA and the artistic director of STILL TIME MUSIC.

Becoming a Christian in his mid-teens, Mike's vision has always been to use professional music as a means of spreading the Gospel, and it is this desire which led to the establishment, in 1999, of 'STILL TIME MUSIC' and 'THE STILL TIME BAND'. Mike is married to Sarah, who is now responsible for the administration of the band.

Becoming a Christian in 1988, Lindsey's main focus is to use her talents in spreading the Gospel and in worship. She is involved with the worship team at Cheam Community Church and with the charity, 'THE SAFE PLACE', which is providing homes for children from orphanages in Romania. Lindsey lives in West London with her husband Stan (sound engineer for the band).

Becoming a Christian in 1982, Martin became one of the founder members of Follys End Church/Croydon where was a leader until 2005, serving the church in a variety of pastoral capacities. Martin came into full time ministry in 2000, and is gifted to be a worship musician and artist. He has a heart to see God use music and the creative arts, and has experienced many instances when the Holy Spirit has touched lives while he has played.

As a Christian from an early age, Derek has always had the desire to use music for evangelism and outreach and is a founder member of 'THE STILL TIME BAND'. Derek is married to Yvette, has 3 children and lives in West London.

As a Christian, Mark is passionate about using the performing arts for evangelism and is a founder member of 'THE STILL TIME BAND'. Mark is married to Jo (original lead vocalist of the band), they have 3 children and live near Maidenhead.

Becoming a Christian at the early age of 13, Bret worked with YWAM Amsterdam for 2 years and is keen to use music in evangelistic and worship contexts. He is married to Pippa, has 2 children and lives in Woking.
 

 

 

The Still Time Band is very keen to pursue all outreach opportunities - be it up-front in a church context, or more relaxed in a pub.

It is now an award winning radio show and a unique double album that combines classic Gershwin songs, a special arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue and the smooth sound of the UK's premier Gospel Jazz band:
