The Arivett Bros.
futuristic top fueler is an exercise in traction and aerodynamic
downloading, without the drag of a wing. In essence: Ground Effects. A
new technology for the traction limited sport of drag racing.
The body configuration
of the Arivett Bros. dragster has the lowest coefficient drag to
download ratio of any automotive shape ever built. Its composition is of
carbon fiber sandwich composite materials, similar to those used on the
F117A stealth fighter and B-2 bomber respectively.
Extra strength and
safety features are built into the chrome moly chassis. All welds are
annealed and treated to military spec. normalization. The chassis is
also pressurized with air to indicate any breach in the chassis'
security.
The Research and
Development process of the Top Fuel car is complete. This was done on El
Mirage dry lake bed during SCTA's speed trials.Utilizing an older Keith
Black alcohol engine, with less than 1500 hp. speeds in excess of 265
were common ground.Without any significant loss of traction, the ground
effects system outperformed Don and Geralds expectations.
In order to
effectively participate in NHRA or IHRA's Top Fuel catagory,a new body
would be created from the same mold, making the car 100 lbs. lighter.
Also a new chassis would be built to lengthen the wheelbase slightly.
The Brothers have all the necessary ingredients to do this, except for
one, $Money$. The brothers claim that pending a major sponsorship, the
new car could be built, in as few as four months.
